Open University 2005 B.A. Hons Geography and History. 2.1 Specialisms: Mike is a specialist in the application of research methodologies in academic, public and private sector settings. He has extensive experience in the design, implementation and presentation of a variety projects via the use surveys, focus groups, interviews and community mapping. In 2004, Mike was nominated for the prestigious George Cameron Award for Innovation, following his role in the development of a qualitative schedule for Connexions using peer on peer research. |

Current Focus: Conducting research relating to amt-i's new town centre services and developing innovative research techniques and packages. Past Life: Over the last 5 years Mike has worked in both Research and Regeneration roles. From 2002 he worked as a Researcher for VT Careers Management, before taking up a more senior position in the consultancy arm of VT in 2006. During his time at VT, Mike worked on a number of national research projects for the Department for Education and Skills, Connexions Direct and the Teacher Training Agency using both quantitative and qualitative techniques. In February 2007, Mike moved into the regeneration sector and joined Northamptonshire County Council's newly formed Rural Renewal Unit (RRU), to deliver the Rural Pathfinder Project. Addressing a wide range of issues affecting those living and working in rural localities, such as transport, education, health, training and access to recreational facilities, Mike both managed the 'Planning for Real' research schedule across the county, whilst heading up a Multi Agency Group of local statutory authority partners. |
